The Coronation (Tales of Tarsurella) Book 1: Review

This post is for The Coronation Blog Tour, of which I had the honor of being a part of. I hope you enjoy!

The Coronation by Olivia Lynn Jarmusch is the first book in the Tales of Tarsurella series and it's about the European monarchy nation of Tarsurella undergoing a change of power from the current King to his son, Addison. As the whole nation is abuzz with preparations for this once in a lifetime event, the Royal family tries to balance work, family, and God.

The eight children that make up the Royal siblings-Addison, Bridget, Chasity, Hope, Asher, Jillian, Millie, and Willie, are all unique and delightful to read about. Their uniqueness brings them alive, and I feel a little like all of them.

The Point of View changes between the characters took a little getting used to, but in the long run really enhanced the reading experience, and I got a clear understanding of what was happening and the feelings of everyone. I do not usually cry while reading but I confess near the end, I did tear up a little.

The Coronation contains a lot of strong Christian faith elements, constant prayers, and Christian ideals that are evident throughout the book. I love the theme of guarding your heart, this does not just apply to dating and marriage aspects but also pertains to bitterness, hatred, fear, and resentment. Emotions, that left unchecked can prove to be detrimental to your relationship with God, yourself, and others, and I love how clearly this principle is illustrated.

Lastly, one of my favorite lines from The Coronation is:
"God created you with a spectacular purpose: to live and abide in His love, to bask in the affection that He has for you, then to pour out that love to others." I feel like this line illustrates this principle of guarding your heart and staying committed to God. I really enjoyed the story line, characters, and theme of The Coronation. Overall it was a really enjoyable read and would definitely recommend. I cannot wait for the next one!

Hello, It's Me

Hello! My name is Tonya Fowler. I have two sisters and one brother. Because of the age differences between my older siblings and my younger sister, (18-16, and 2 years, respectively), I always feel like the middle child. The one slightly neglected because of my naturally shy personality, compared to the exuberant personalities of my sisters and the quiet, kind personality of my brother, but when need be, I make my presence known. I’m more of an introvert at heart. I love reading, writing, photography(although I have yet to purchase a SLR), art, and creating. In my spare time I like to learn how to hip-hop dance and to code. I’m adventurous. A wanderlust at heart in search of new experiences. I love Jesus and seek to please him with my life. So continue to follow along as I share my experiences and ponderings on life.

Reading has always been one of my favorite past times. It has been something in recents days that I haven't been able to keep up with the way I want, but it will always be my first love. Reading is the gateway to the seeing the world through a new pair of eyes. An entrance to new places;  a new way of thinking. There are five books of 2015 that make my top five: Bonhoeffer: pastor, martyr, prophet, spy  by Eric Mataxas Dietrich Bonhoeffer represents to me a person who continues to strive for justice and truth, even when it seems like he's the only one who cares. Like its all dependent upon him to keep striving, to endure and influence those around him for what's right. Bonhoeffer's endurance is inspiring. The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson I love books that don't just tell a good story and that's it, but challenges the reader to do something, and the Circle Maker does just that. This relevant book on prayer challenges the reader to dare to believe that ...
